West tour (Tatajuba).

 

General description

Tatajuba Beach is a fishing village that was buried by the sand and rebuilt on the other side of the river, has huge dunes, coconut trees and calm sea.

In this tour the traveler will take Buggy and ferry routes along the Guriú River. The following places are part of the tour:

Mangue Seco Beach: Mangue Seco is a small fishing village, home to around 200 families. On the beach there are mangrove trees where the twigs are buried in the sand and a lagoon of blue-green water that makes the landscape of the place incredible.

Rio Guriú: On its margin is a small community of fishermen, about 10km from Jericoacoara. Guriú marks the western boundary of the Environmental Protection Area - APA, where it is possible to rent a rustic raft and go through huge formations across the mouth of the river. At the end of the tour, visitors stop in a small rustic bar for some delicious snacks along the coast.

Lago Grande: It is beautiful and surrounded by dunes, having hammoks inside the water where the visitor can enjoy to lie down and relax.

Highlights

This tour departs in the morning, from the inns of Vila de Jericoacoara, and takes place along the west coast, passing through the main beach of Jeri and the beach of Mangue Seco, where a stop is made for the boat trip, to see the seahorses (optional ride).
